JOb Title: Solutions Architect

Location: Full-remote with occasional travel to Midlands and/or London offices (once per month usually)

Salary: To £75,000 per annum + 15% bonus, Private Medical, Life Assurance, Contributory pension (up to 10.5%), 26 days holiday (plus bank hols, 2 volunteer days, +/- 5 days buy/sell)

 

The Bridge Technology Partners are working exclusively on behalf of our global FTSE100 client to help them source an experienced Supply-Chain focused Solutions Architect. 

Our client has growing operations in 32 countries, more than 500,000 products available across omnichannel to over one million customers who, together, receive over 50,000 deliveries a day worldwide. As aSolution Architect, your accountabilities would be:

  • Develop the architecture & overall design for major/strategic projects in line with Enterprise Architecture and providing the guidance so engineering teams can deliver.
  • Support, and actively participate in, robust governance processes relating to target and transition conceptual, logical and physical architectures for application/technology solutions.
  • Facilitate the process of making Key Design decisions, ensuring that all key stakeholders can contribute to the process.  
  • Communicate the reasoning and implications of key architectural decisions to senior management stakeholders.
  • Contribute to cross functional Design Working Groups to discuss, agree and communicate key design elements.
  • Ensuring that the programmes, projects and initiatives are aware of, and comply with, the documented Architectural governance processes.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching for less experienced members of the Solution Architecture team.

 

Your skills and experience include some of the following:

  • Supply chain/Transport/Logistics solutions (e.g. systems for: inventory planning, order management, warehouse management, warehouse automation (conveyors/autopack etc), carrier service management)
  • Global Trade and Compliance solutions (e.g. global trade solutions and regulatory tools)
  • Supply & Demand Planning solution (e.g. S&OP processes/technology)
  • Security and robustness (e.g. identity and access control, scalability, usability, maintainability, monitoring, alerting, etc) 
  • Platforms (e.g. frameworks, ERPs, Search, PaaS, serverless)
  • Architectural design (e.g. methodologies, diagrams, analysis, specifications)
  • Integrated systems (e.g. between bespoke, open source, commercial off the shelf and SaaS)
  • Deployment environments (e.g. virtualisation, containers and automation of these)
  • Scalable architectural patterns (e.g. SOA, micro-services, API management, event driven)
  • Web and mobile solutions (e.g. internet, http, CDN’s, browser and native)

Our client currently uses a mixture of tech such as –

  • Cloud: predominantly AWS but Azure and others too
  • Warehouse Management: SAP WM, SAP EWM, Manhattan, Dematic DAI Matflow, Sicalis. CCS/WCS, Automated Warehouse Technology
  • Inventory Management/Planning: Blue Yonder, SAP BW, Coupa
  • Carrier Service Management: Metapack
  • Global Trade/Compliance: E2Open – Amber Road/TA22, GTS, Atlas and more
  • Data: the Cloudera and Snowflake ecosystems, plus several integrated tools
  • Marketing: Adobe, Google plus a slew of ad tech
  • ML and AI: using all the above
  • Containers: from docker, hashicorp and the cloud native foundation
  • Custom development: Java, node.js, graphql, react and much more.
