*** We’d particularly like to speak with individuals with a Software House ‘product delivery’ background and worked within highly regulated industry sectors such as Utilities, Financial Services or Pharma (or worked on the client side).*** 

 

Job Purpose

You will be supporting the business on its continued growth, working directly with teams across the business and directly with clients to deliver products and solutions. The role will see you being hands-on with delivery whilst also driving best practice and process with a dedication to quality delivery. You will ensure proactive and efficient management and delivery along with effective engagement throughout project and product lifecycles.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define appropriate processes and methodologies which fit with client ways of working and deliver a seamless and effective way of working.
  • Deliver new products or product changes from concept through development teams and into our clients.
  • Constantly reviewing progress and tailoring delivery methods to the specific delivery.
  • Manage stakeholders across all functional teams, external suppliers, and senior leadership.
  • Prioritise work that supports our strategic, commercial and technology needs that sit within your control.
  • Proactively drive continuous improvement across the product delivery landscape.
  • Promote the embedding of Agile to progress reporting and metrics, enabling the early identification of areas of uncertainty and blockers to progress, whilst also supporting an iterative benefit delivery.
  • Solve problems yourself or with the wider team.
  • Lead a team of Product Owners and Testing Resource and project managers as we grow.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the project team, delegating tasks, resolving conflicts, and motivating and empowering the team members.
  • Escalate issues appropriately.
  • Maintain project plans and documentation and work with best in class approaches to clear and concise project delivery tooling.
  • Deliver status updates on agreed projects to cover time, cost, spec, and budget.
  • Maintain quality and control standards.

 

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Demonstrable experience of driving and delivering large, complex business change projects and product projects within a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrable experience of working with challenging clients turning ambiguity into structured deliverables and plans
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills at head of / Directorship level
  • To lead by example; being visible and accessible; setting the tone and pace for the project by clearly communicating project goals and success criteria; clearly specifying required outcomes
  • Line management experience of project managers including objective setting and performance management
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced working environment with excellent organisational skills
  • Strong influencing skills and an ability to apply an appropriate level of challenge to senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge and experience of working within a DevOps/Continuous Delivery framework through the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Understanding and practical experience in application of IT testing lifecycle management
  • Willingness to work in the office and an ability to travel to client sites for meetings
