 Hiring: Senior IT Support Engineer 

I’m working with a large, well-established independent boarding school that’s looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer to join their dynamic in-house tech team.

Location: Surrey

Salary: £34,000 – £38,000

Hours: Full-time, 40 hrs/week, all year round

Start: ASAP

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and working across a large site with a complex IT landscape. Youll be hands-on with a broad mix of technologies — from Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace to networking, virtualization, security, and device management — while playing a key role in delivering IT strategy and user experience improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing 2nd/3rd line support across cloud, infrastructure, and networking

Managing and maintaining IT systems (servers, storage, backups, network services)

Supporting users (staff & students), resolving escalated issues and managing helpdesk operations

Implementing and maintaining IT security best practices

Contributing to IT projects and life-cycle planning alongside the IT Operations Manager

Were looking for someone with:

Solid technical experience across Windows Server, M365, AD/Group Policy, networking (VLANs, DHCP/DNS), and virtual environments

A proactive approach to problem-solving and excellent communication skills

Ideally, some exposure to education or boarding environments (not essential)
